I Defend The 2nd: Ronnie Barrett
For more than 150 years, the National Rifle Association of America has been supporting the right to keep and bear arms. From training to competition to political action and more, the NRA has been at the forefront of the battle to preserve, protect and defend the Second Amendment. Today, we need your help to ensure that our great association continues to thrive. NRA Director Ronnie Barrett, designer of the Barrett M107 .50-cal. sniper rifle and founder of Barrett Firearms, explains in the video above just how critical your support is.
"I know the past few years have been difficult for a number of reasons," Barrett said. "But through it all, NRA members have persevered, won big battles for our gun rights and continue to make it our mission to teach, defend and advance freedom in every corner of society."
More than 72,000 members attended the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Dallas, Texas, from May 16-19, 2024. There, they heard former President Donald Trump speak to his commitment to protect the Second Amendment. They also saw an entirely new slate of leaders elected to the organization's top positions.
"I couldn't be more inspired by the new NRA leadership team that was elected at our meeting in Texas," Barrett said. "With former Congressman Bob Barr as our new board president, along with several new board members. I'm very pleased with the election of our new CEO, Doug Hamlin. Doug is already taking our proud association in a direction that will guarantee that the sacred trust our members put in the NRA will never be broken."
Today, the National Rifle Association is committed to good governance, fiscal responsibility and the fight to protect our Second Amendment rights. But the strength of our association is in its members. More than ever before, firearm owners across America need to band together to ensure that our God-given right to bear arms never fades away.
"I promise you, if you care about the future of freedom in this country, like I do, the most meaningful action you can take as an ordinary citizen like me is to join the extraordinary group of men and women who count themselves as NRA members," Barrett said. "We are here. We're ready to fight for our freedoms, and we will win."

My gun came with a none centered barrel (sits very low) so any suppressor added cause drag on the slide (wear marks and malfunctions). Sent back to Taurus, they put 26 round through it none suppressed (knowing already that it functioned with no suppressor, and that it only had issues when suppressed). I called after receiving the pistol back and was told that if it functions without a suppressor, they don’t care and will not be fixing anything. I had high hopes that Taurus was starting to turn around from the terrible company they’ve known to be in the past, unfortunately they are still the same company.

Irony lives in the fact that those who disparage the rights of others, do so under the protection of rights secured to do so in the same document. And defended by the same individuals who sacrificed so much to protect the disparager. Hypocrisy at its finest.

The one thing I don't like is the top of the trigger. If you hold the trigger finger high it will get pinched after firing because there is a gap that gets exposed after bringing the trigger all the way back.

An observation, the badge under the crown is not the cross of St. George but the cross of St. Dionysius, at this point let me remind you that it is a white cross on a blue shield (white cross on a blue shield are the colors to this day of the flags and insignia of the Greek Armed Forces - except for the Hellenic Navy - for the Army, Saint George is depicted in the middle of the cross, and for the Air Force, Archangels Michael and Gabriel are depicted).

I own the Gen 2 rifle from Ruger, one thing that isn't mentioned is the factory at Ruger uses RED LOCTITE on the threaded end of muzzle, so any hopes of putting a silencer at the end isn't easy at all. Have to super heat the end of barrel and torque it. Way to go Ruger.... NOT!

Just got my great grandfathers taken apart and found the reason it was no longer shooting for me, wasnt that it was mever ever cleaned, but that the firing pin return spring was broken in about 10 pieces. Im sure it was still firing after the spring broke, but was only after it broke into so many peices that it stopped

Jesus. I’ve been waiting for this pistol. We want everything the G19 gives but in a slimmer package. The Rost Martin is unlike other “compacts” be it is slim. Same dimensions as the G48 and as slim as the Sig Tacops. But with a much better trigger. The word budget devalues how good this pistol is. Carrying it is a breeze because it’s lighter than the Tacops and the Hellcat Pro yet you lose nothing vs other compacts. SHTF-G17 Gen5 EDC- summer G43x EDC- cool weather G19 Gen5……Nope not any more. It will be the RM1C in the 17+1 configuration

When discussing the bolt you didn’t mention that the handle is threaded for aftermarket bolt knobs. I really like the Pure Precision ‘slim’ bolt knob. IMO, it smoothly integrates with the handle, gives a significant improvement in feel over the round factory knob, and looks proportionally correct.

The Thompson submachine gun - heavy, expensive, and claw-hammer reliable. IIRC even the M1A1 cost the US gov't somewhere around $44 in 1943 - which is one reason they switched to the M3 Grease Gun. The M3 and M3A1 cost about $18.

I like Ruger firearms; have several of them, myself. What I don't like is the way they make their 15 and 25 round 10-22 magazines. The ones I bought have under -sized boxes, and move around terribly in the mag well. I've spoken to Ruger service department, but due to Illinois' stupid new laws, all Ruger can do is replace them with 10 round mags.

The 5.7 × 28 is a good round especially over 75 yards vs most handgun rounds the cost of the ammo vs 9mm is substantially more even a carbine rifle in 5.7 × 28 10 - 16 inch would be nice the problem for me is 223/556 is more effective and cost for ammo is close and I'd prefer a fullsized pistol 4.5 -5 inch barrel in SIG 357 or 10mm over 5.7 × 28 if ammo was 15 dollars for 50 rounds like 9mm until then its a no go l like the 30 supper carry and TCM 22 a few years back l had a RIA TCM 22 /9mm combo double stack 1911 and was getting TCM 22 ammo for 16 dollars for 50 rounds but sold it to buy a used SIG P320 fullsize with many upgrades it is 40SW / SIG 357 combo for 430 dollars gun looks new l think SIG 357 or 10mm is a better more effective round over 5.7 × 28 even at 100 yards
